Family-Friendly Things to Do And Places to Visit In Mersing

If you’ve got some time to spare before your ride, here are some activities you can occupy your time with.
1. Muzium Mersing

Built around 1920s, the Mersing Museum building has changed hands several times through the years. From serving as the district administrative office, it then became the headquarters of the Japanese Imperial Army operations and when they surrendered, the building was once again served as a government office.
Today, you’ll find numerous artefacts that paint a vivid image of Mersing’s history housed within the building.
2. Masjid Jamek Bandar Mersing
Location: Jalan Masjid, Mersing Kechil, 86800 Mersing, Johor, Malaysia

Masjid Jamek Bandar Mersing is a beautiful pre-african structured mosque that exudes serenity. Standing atop the hill where it’s located, you will get a stunning overview of the Mersing town and South China Sea.
3. Fushun Temple
Location: Jalan Jemaluang, Mersing Kechil, 86800 Mersing, Johor, Malaysia

Visit the Fushun Temple, a small old Chinese temple dedicated to Tua Pek Kong and be awed by the ornately carved pillars and sculptures. Looking at the vivid ornaments of the temple, you’ll never know it’s a century old building.
4. Sri Subramaniar Temple
Location: Jalan Jemaluang, Mersing Kechil, 86800 Mersing, Johor, Malaysia

Located a short trip away from the Fushun Temple is a small Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Subramaniam. The intricate details of the temple’s architecture is truly sublime.
5. Gunung Arong Recreational Forest
Location: Mersing-Endau Road, Endau 86900, Malaysia

If you’re up for a little exercise, why not hike up Gunung Arong Recreational Forest? Clear streams cut across the forest home to an assorted array of flora and fauna amidst lush greenery and towering trees. The view at the top of this oasis of nature is simply breathtaking.
